Abstract
Because of its unique life cycle and size, the magnolia scale can be a challenging insect pest to control, but by employing a integrated approach of overall plant health including the right plant for the right site, planting of less susceptible Magnolia taxa, conservation of natural enemies, timely application of chemical insecticides and using the least toxic chemical insecticides, effective control of magnolia scale can be achieved.
