Letter from Sterling Morton to Clarence E. Godshalk. On his doctor's orders, he was not permitted to drive to the Arboretum, share his slides and drive home. He hopes that everyone enjoyed the Christmas party. With reference to the herbarium, considering all the Arboretum has undertaken, Morton agrees that they should not commit to gathering materials beyond the local plants. However, he believes that "this is a particularly valuable collection as an addition to the Natural History Museum." He has donated there in the past, but I don't care to stand the whole cost of this addition to their collection."
