Letter from Sterling Morton to C .E. Godshalk thanking him for the return of the slide and suggesting Godshalk visit the gardens Isola Bella. He also thanks him for the information on getting rid of frogs. He is pleased with the work being done on his house. He was sorry to hear of the death of the toll road contractor in a helicopter accident. He is glad the main spring rush at the Arboretum will be over before the work begins on Route 53 and the underpass. The new Morton Salt Company office will be dedicated on May 15. The thornless honey locusts will look better on Wacker Drive than the Washington thorns. The Japanese say that the ginkgo is by far the best street tree; he suggests that they try some in the garden across the river. He thinks the bulletin board is an excellent idea. He believes that the public will be inconvenienced during the construction in the summer, but the results will be worth it. He hopes to buy the new retina single-lens reflex camera.
