Gaillardia pulchella Foug. (firewheel), flowers. Gaillardia pulchella flowers are daisy-like with red outer ray petals tipped in yellow. The center yellowish disc has a darker red hairy ring with yellow pollen grains. The flowers stand above gray-green foliage. It is sometimes called blanket flower.
