Mirabilis jalapa L. (marvel of Peru), flower buds. Mirabilis jalapa (Four O'Clocks) have trumpet-shaped flowers formed by fused sepals. This photo shows bright magenta buds that are about to open. The opposite, large, pointed, green leaves have a prominent mid vein.
