Data are in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (.csv) and Tucson Decadal formatted files (.rwl), which can be read by a number of programs including MeasureJ2X, Tellervo, R, and text editors.
Dataset
1997 – 1998
Approximately 600 tree cores were collected from 24 forest stands and 4 savanna stands in the area around Chicago, Ill. Tree rings were measured using a stereo microscope on a VELMEX unislide stage, ACU-RITE linear encoder and Quick-check digital readout before being digitally processed using MeasureJ2X software. Protocols can be found in Bowles and Jones, 2008 (see below).
