Catalpa speciosa Warder (northern catalpa), image shows branch loaded with green pods and large leaves, leaves are whorled or opposite simple ovate to ovate-oblong 6-12" long by 3-8" wide long acuminate truncate to cordate entire or with 1-2 lobes medium green and glabrous above densely pubescent beneath scentless, petiole is 4-6" long, fruits are capsules 8-20" long by 1/2-3/4" wide thick walls persisting into winter, seeds are fringed
