Diospyros virginiana L. (persimmon), image shows golden leaves against blue sky, leaves are alternate simple 2.25-5.5" long by 0.75-2.0" wide ovate to elliptic rounded at base entire or irregularly serrate lustrous dark green above paler beneath glabrous at maturity or with a minimal pubescence on the midrib, petiole is 1/3-1" long pubescent, fall color is yellow-green to yellow or even reddish purple
