(persimmon), image shows ripe fruit in winter with a large yellow-bellied sapsucker, fruit is an edible berry yellowish to pale orange 1-1.5" long subtended by 4 persistent calyx lobes, ripens after frost in late Sept.-Oct. and persisting into winter, edible but can cause serious digestive obstructions
