Carya laciniosa (Michx. f.) Loudon (shellbark hickory), image shows growth characteristics and height, Shellbark Hickories or King Nut Hickories reach heights of 60-80' or greater and forms a high branching tree with a straight slender trunk and narrow oblong crown of small spreading branches with the lower ones drooping and the upper ones ascending, the seed is sweet and edible, bark is shaggy
