Monarda fistulosa L. (wild bergamot), rare woodland wildflower, image shows green foliage, aromatic often branched perennial 2-4' tall with a hairy upper stem, leaves are lanceolate to ovate toothed to 4" long on petioles to 0.6" long, inflorescence is head-like to 1.6" wide terminating the stems and branches, floral bracts ate often pink-tinged, flowers are lavender pink 2-lipped with the upper lip of the corolla very hairy at the tip, stamens are longer than the upper corolla lip, found growing in woods and borders and thickets
