Syringa vulgaris ‘Michel Buchner’ (Michel Buchner common lilac), upright, multi-stemmed habit quite hardy tends to sucker, flowers are showy panicles of fragrant lilac purple rising above the foliage in mid spring, foliage is bluish-green throughout the season with heart-shaped leaves that do not develop any appreciable fall color, grows to be about 10 feet tall at maturity with a spread of 10 feet
