Platanus occidentalis L. (sycamore), leaves are alternate simple 4-9" wide often broader than long 3-lobed (sometimes 5-lobed) with shallow sinuses and broad triangular lobes truncate or cordate rarely cuneate coarsely toothed or rarely entire floccose-tomentulose when young but at maturity pubescent along veins beneath medium to dark green, petiole 3-5" long with prominent stipules 1-1.5" long entire or toothed
