Prunus triloba Lindl. (flowering almond), dense rounded deciduous multi-stemmed shrub that typically grows 10-15’ tall and as wide but sometimes grown as a small tree, flowers are pink five-petaled  appearing in a profuse early spring bloom (April), early spring flowers are susceptible to damage from frosts, fruit following flowers is globose red 1/2" diameter, leaves are coarse double-toothed broad-ovate medium green 2.5” long and are often three lobed, foliage turns yellow in fall
