Acer griseum (Franch.) Pax (paper-barked maple), leaves are opposite trifloliate 3-6" long, leaflets are elliptic to ovate oblong 2.0-2.5" long and half as wide apex acute base cuneate middle leaflet short-stalked and coarsely toothed lateral leaflets are almost sessile and not as toothed lower surface is distinctly pubescent especially on the veins dark bluish green above pale green to glaucous beneath, petiole is distinctly pubescent 2-3" long, fall color is bronze or russet-red or red
