Acer platanoides L. (Norway maple), leaves are opposite simple 4-7" across and long 5-lobed with lobes sharp pointed (acuminate) subcordate remotely dentate lustrous dark green above lustrous beneath often with hairs in axils of veins, milky sap is visible when petiole is removed from stem, petiole is 3-4" long, fall color is a handsome yellow
