Heuchera richardsonii (prairie alumroot), prairie wildflower, hairy plants with leafless flowering stems up to 2.5' tall arising from a dense cluster of long-stalked basal leaves, leaves are up to 3.5" wide and about half as long with shallowly lobed and toothed edges and heart=shaped bases, flowers are small and are in an elongate cluster at the top of the usually solitary flowering stem, each flower is less than 1/2" long with a greenish calyx flaring to small yellow to purplish lobes, petals are 5 small green to purple with 5 slightly protruding stamens with orange tips
