Buddleja alternifolia Maxim. (fountain butterfly bush), Alternate-leaf Butterfly-bush is a large shrub or small tree that grows 10-20' in height, the habit is lax and long pendulous shoots flay their supple arms in the slightest breeze, dull dark green leaves take on a gray cast from a distance and provide interesting foliage color, flowers are fragrant and bright lilac-purple appearing in dense clusters in June from the axils of prior season's wood)
