Description
Letter from C. E. Godshalk to Sterling Morton saying he will turn over the redwood seeds to Mr. Nordine. It will be interesting to grow them in the greenhouse, but they won't survive the winter temperatures. Mr. Nordine informed Godshalk that the metasequoia at the Arboretum have died down to the ground due to 0 degree temperatures, and Morton's metasequoia was one of this group. Godshalk expects it will eventually sprout. Mr. Berens, president of the DuPage County Historical Society, says the plans for the May 17 program are well underway. Dr. Spaeth (Forestry Department of the University of Illinois) will speak, and Governor Stevenson will attend. They are starting to plant.
