Letter from C. E. Godshalk to Sterling Morton updating him on work being done around the Arboretum: spring work is proceeding, work on the new houses is going well, the Toll Road work is expected to begin April 1, and the work on Route 53 and the underpass will not start until June 1. The new lake is at its ultimate level and will be pumped out again now that warmer weather is here. He met with Mr. Rowe of Morton Salt to discuss plantings for outside the new Morton Salt offices. He is working out an arrangement with the Garden Club of Illinois to test plants under loop conditions with signage for passers-by.
