AbstractGenetic diversity is central to conservation objectives. Gardens need clear frameworks, tools, and metrics to make progress towards this goal. In this article we show how to measure genetic diversity in collections, why more wild-sourced accessions are needed to meet targets, and why we MUST coordinate our efforts to work towards the achievement of GSPC Targets 8 and 9.
