Description:Copy of letter from N. C. Abbott to Senator Frank Sorrell stating that Mark Morton, the only surviving son of J. Sterling Morton, suggested C. E. Godshalk would be a good source for suggestions for the Nebraska state tree. A handwritten note from Abbott to Godshalk states Godshalk is doing a fine job and he enjoyed meeting him.

Description:Letter from N. C. Abbott to C. E. Godshalk requesting various Arboretum publications that he will pay for by check. Mark Morton had sent Abbott a Tribune item regarding the Arboretum's fall classes, and he suggested that Abbott might inform the public about the classes. Now J. H. Sweet and Arthur Sweet are ready to do so in the News-Press. He appreciates Godshalk's kindness when he was digging into J. Sterling Morton's papers, and now the Mortoniana is housed in one of the finest libraries in the Middle West.

Description:Letter from C. E. Godshalk to N. C. Abbott stating he is sending under separate cover the various Arboretum publications he requested, but the post card are no longer available. The fall courses are nearly over, so there is no need to publicize them, but he is sending a fall class schedule for Abbott to see the types of classes offered. Mr. Boulton enlisted in the Military Police Corp and was in the Pacific, but is now home due to several bad attacks of malaria. He has often wondered about Mr. Olson [Jerome] who had been in the service; he hopes he came through in good shape.

Description:Undated letter from N. C. Abbott to C. E. Godshalk thanking him for the Arboretum materials he sent. He asks Godshalk to give Mr. Boulton his best wishes; he hopes to see him again. He is intrigued by the history of the Arboretum, and he greatly admires Joy Morton, in addition to General Wood, General Pershing, and J. Sterling Morton. Mr. Olson [Jerome] is now secretary of the State Historical Society and will soon be out of the service. He has grown greatly since they first knew him and now has a wife and child.
