Description:Letter from Richard E. Horsey to E. L. Kammerer discussing when to send plant cuttings that Helen C. Ellwanger and Jean M. Cudahy identified from the Ellwanger & Barry grounds, especially Virgilia(Cladrastis lutea), Tilia euchlora, variegated leaf maple and rose margined beech for their historical association. The Garden Club of America's annual convention visited Highland Park to see the lilacs. It was the first time the group made a public park an attraction. Marginalia mention the need to locate understock for the clipping. Also February 1 as a date to receive the clippings.
