Date: April 1 1946Creator: Godshalk, Clarence E.
Type: Document
Description:Letter from C. E. Godshalk to Jean Cudahy saying he is glad she is coming home early. He describes the blooming of Cornus mas, C. officinalis, forsythia, viburnum, Prunus davidiana, and the magnolias at the Arboretum. They have done a great deal of planting and now the men are laying the sod they cut off of the new road. He is having trouble hiring new men; he believes they will have to hire high school boys to do the clean-up on Saturdays. He hopes they can get started on putting the gravel on the new road this week. Walter and Bob have been running the base line through the Arboretum. The Arboretum was crowded yesterday. Miss Conger is sending out an assistant to repair the lecture room drapes. He hopes Mrs. Cudahy has a nice trip to New York.
