He hasn't been able to get out to see Morton's cattle due to preparations for the Garden Show. He hopes to come some day next week. Addressing Morton's concern about the snow on the Administration Building steps, Godshalk explained that the shovels were damaging the stone, so they were keeping a 6-8 foot wide path open and letting a couple of inches of snow stay on the rest of the stairs. He thanks Morton for suggesting that the stairs should look better maintained, saying they will try to use stiff barn brooms to clear the area. He hopes Morton will be able to attend the Flower Show and see the Arboretum's exhibit: a small barn and corn crib to give the effect of a farm demonstrating a pine windbreak. They want to encourage residents to plant pine windbreaks and groves.
