In the case of Mr. Henderson who is trying to "break down the DuPage County Zoning law", Mr. Baker feels that it is a worthy case, but the Arboretum should not use its funds "to influence principals of government." But she and Sterling Morton could use funds on behalf of the Arboretum. Loehman is working on plastering the Bird Room in Thornhill. Next will come the roof repair and shingles. Water pipe is in short supply and will delay the Service Building. Better Homes and Gardens magazine will do a feature to be release next winter. Mr. Palm's men are finished the basement of Thornhill in time for Mrs. Watt's classes. Mrs. Wasson has been helping Mrs. Watts.

Mrs. Watts is completing a new nature trail guide book. Walter has finished the labels for the trail. Mrs. Wasson, Mrs. Shawvan and Miss Helen Turner are helping Mrs Watts. He gave detailed updates on the building program with Loehman putting in the wiring. Sterling Morton sent Lowell a complimentary letter about the article for the New York Botanical Gardens. Ruby White would like to have her wedding in the Arboretum Hedge Garden. He hopes Mrs. Cudahy will soon be well enough to go home.
