Joe Cudahy purchased the MacVeagh House and will convert it to 15 room apartments, with tenants to include Laurence Armour and John G. Shedd. The Delano House was sold to a Swedish Lutheran Society. He suggests John Root of Holabird & Roche as the architect for arboretum work. The buildings should be permanent, not wood frame. He and Mr. Simonds will meet with Root.

Godschalk is leading his crew with grounds maintenance in spite of very cold weather. After going to the Auto Show, he suggests a 6-cylinder Buick or Studebaker for his father. The Morrison apparatus will be installed. Sterling details the teletype business, telebar printers, and orders from Associated Press.

As the weather warms, Simonds will get a team with mules to begin grading. Wyllie says the pumps and dike are set. The south farm needs a bunkhouse.

Especially pleased with the layout of roads, which will develop the property to the fullest. Trees have arrived, but they cannot be planted until the ground is drier. He is interviewing for Butler and Chauffeur. Hans and his wife from last year have returned. He suggests that Joy ask Joe for some tame horses to enhance the property and please Suzette. Teletype sales issues with Howard, Carr and AT&T.
