Acer saccharum ‘Green Mountain’ (Green Mountain sugar maple) PP2,339, habit is upright-oval to rounded, usually quite dense in foliage, dark green leathery foliage with good scorch resistance, supposedly orange to scarlet in fall but in Midwest it's more like yellow and in the Northwest it's more like yellow-red, this is a hybrid cross of species with A. nigrum, quite heat tolerant and performs better than species in dry restricted growing areas, growth rate is about 7.2' tall by 5' wide after 4 years for a new planting, gets to 70' high by 45' wide at maturity
