Dirca palustris L. (leatherwood), habit is much-branched rather dense oval to rounded shrub in cultivation when sited in full sun, irregular open and more spreading in the wild although still relatively dense, growth rate is slow reaching a height of 3-6' with similar spread, has pale yellow flowers in March to April
