The interview focuses on Hedborn's experiences and memories of The Morton Arboretum's Collections Program during the curatorship of Ray Schulenberg, which lasted from 1977 to 1987. Topics include Hedborn's early days as plant recorder, the shift of collections focus to wild-collected plants, seed collecting trips through the western United States and Northern Illinois, tracing the history of plants, the computerization of plant records, and the start of Bloom and Color Reports.
